BBC Your Label 2010 LFW Competition.

 In June 2010 I entered a BBC Fashion Competition. The brief was to design a collection of six outfits inspired by Ceramics. Over 1,000 applied and I got into the Final 10 of the competition winning me a place to showcase my designs at London Fashion Week in September 2010. I had about 8 weeks to make all my 6 outfits for the show which was held at Freemasons Hall on Sunday 25th September 2010. This was an amazing opportunity and experience for me, I loved every minute of the process from designing to making the outfits to being backstage at the fashion show. The image below is my 6 outfits I designed and made myself. :)

I graduated from City & Islington College in July 2010 with a BTEC National Diploma in Fashion & Clothing.

    Final Major Project - April 2010.
In April 2010 I was able to choose my own brief for my final major project at college. I chose Fashion Architecture as I love this subject...I visited many exhibitions including the Maison Martin Margiela exhibition at Somerset House I love Margiela's work so I was able to get many idea's from his creations. I also researched the RIBA in London and researched many Architects including Zaha Hadid who is famous for designing the new 2012 Olympic Aquatic Centre. Through all this research and design development process I came up with my final four designs below. My next post will be photographs from my end of year college fashion show which showcased my final major project collection.

Sixties Project - April 2010.

I had to design and make a shift dress and a pair of high-waisted shorts for this project. I was inspired by Op Art as it was a big thing in the sixties so researched the artist Bridget Riley and then drew and screen printed my own op art print onto my dress and shorts.

Futurism Jacket Project - January 2010.

This college project was based on making a Jacket inspired by Futurism. I was inspired by many Futurism and Constructivism artists and Architecture. I researched my two favourite fashion designers Hussein Chalayan and Gareth Pugh for this project too but I got most of my inspiration from Lady Gaga. :)
